With the Holidays approaching, I have one thing on my mind. My New Years Eve dress! New Years Eve is one of my favorite events to get dressed up for and I have narrowed my favorites down to 3. Please feel free to vote on your favorite dress and help me pick the one I will ring the New Year in!

This dress is from BCBG. I love the bow-tie belt and the ruffles. It reminds me of the one and only Carrie Bradshaw.

This Dress is from Kate Moss's collection for Top Shop. I love this dress because of the black horses printed on it. Horses remind me of being playful and wild, which is why I think it would make the perfect dress to ring in the New Year.

I requested this film on Netflicks for the following reasons.

1.) Sydney Pollack directed it.

2.) it had the word "horses" in it.

Little did I know, I was about to be inspired. It turns out that the wardrobe styling was as brilliant as the storey line. Jane Fonda plays the roll of a jaded woman who is desperately trying to win a dance marathon during the depression era. she is bathed in sweaters, grays, forest green stripes, and dresses with cuts and patterns I have never seen before. If you haven't seen this film, get ready....

Not everyday is bathed in sunshine, and rain has a way of punishing those who put style before performance. Luckily, my Fall theme has encompassed the "ultimate" in rain friendly material. Highly motivated by Burberry and Portland Pride, the purchase of a trench coat was long overdue.

Who can forget Meryl Streep's trench coat in Kramer vs Kramer. She wore an almost floor length coat with a tightly wrapped belt to keep her shape. Perfection. A trench is more then a rain coat, it is almost menacing, as if you are working undercover and want everyone to know about it. Even on the sunniest of days, the coat implies rain, like a big cloud is lurking just above the frame of the picture.

This dress is from Jovovich-Hawk. An amazing line of clothing by Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk. I purchased this dress online while browsing their collection. I now live in it. The fabric looks and feels vintage, which gives it an almost nostalgic quality. One of my main pieces for my Spring in Fall. This dress says it all.
